Looks like the same bait to me, Mike....just the one is held up to the light.

A thought here: if the belly section of the bottom half of the mold is hand poured and that body surface gets a brushed coat of a contrasting color of hi lite and the rest of the mold gets injected with a slightly lighter [watered down a little] color of the same plastic you could get some serious reflection taking place inside that critter.

That Icraw mold has a ton of possibilities for manipulation.

@ctom , you are absolutely correct sir. It is the same bait just held up to the light. What I did was inject the top half with very few drops of watermelon green to give it sort of a Green apple Jolly Rancher color. Once it was cured, I snipped off the claws antennas, legs & a bit of the tail. I then injected the bottom half with just a few drops of the June bug color. I was going more for a translucent look. Pretty satisfied with the end results. & Yes the possibilities are endless. My Senko mold just arrived in the mail so time to have some fun! By the way I took a peek at the links in your signature... beautiful work sir!

A suggestion only.....don't let one half of a bait cure or set more than a day to inject the second half. To set or cure up it allows a thin film of oil to come out of the plastic and the top half can have a hard time welding to it. I make what I can work with in one sitting when it comes to tops and bottoms. The only exception I make to this is when I mass-inject tail color stock. I make hundreds of the 1 1/2" paddletailed Ring-Its for crappie fishing and without fail they all have chartreuse, hot pink or fluorescent orange tails. I shoot hundreds of baits in chartreuse alone. I simply cut the baits in half and store in gallon zip locks. When I need to make baits I re-cut the tail stock to the size I need then re-inject the baits and get great welds since there'll be no oil on the newly cut portion. The body portions take a lot of heat to get that junction surface welded good,  and any oil on that surface that's been sitting a few days does not get re-incorporated from the heat of the fresh plastic. You might end up with a lot of de-lamination issues by waiting for the second injection. Do them as close as you can to the same day and then let them cure if you feel curing is needed. I shoot and fish. The only plastic I make that really gets any curing time is that tail stock.

By the looks of that junebug you have the color down pat. If you didn't add it, try a touch of violet hi lite in the jb.  And the green is sweet too laying against the jb....a pinch of gold hi lite in it will really make it jump. Good stuff. Keep it up.
