Tube insert
« on: 08/08/17 11:59 UTC »
Got a question guys... I'm gonna order the 4.5 tube mold. It says I need the 2.25 insert. I want my tube to be thick like a bass pro shop magnum flipping tube. Is that the right insert?

The insert determines how hollow the bait is. No insert and the bait is solid. The longer the insert the more hollow the bait is. Some guys like the top part of the bait to be solid with the bottom (toward the skirt) to be hollow. This way they can start with a texas rig but tex pose the hook through the hollow portion. Hopes this makes sence.

You can leave the tube right on the insert assembly as it comes out of the mold and re-dip just the tube portion in the same color/cup of plastic to thicken the body up but you'll lose any texturing that the mold creates.
