I would like to see a shrimp mold made like a lead mold. Where you lay the hook in mold before injecting the plastic. Seeing how this is do it you could even make a lead mold with a small weight around the hook just enough to keep the shrimp below a cork. Right now we have nothing to compete with the retail stores which all have a version of a weighted shrimp.
Peg weights work great! I think a slow flat fall works the best. If your using a cork use a 1/8th oz jig head and 90° bend hook.

We have made some pretty ones, getting it to swim is the most important thing.  Just need cc1 to be able to catch fish on it.  :P

Swim?
Swim, how?

Shrimp swim, as their overall action, very plainly, minus the meaningless action of their swimmers along the bottom of their "tail".  You don't need to try to mimic/imitate that...just get the profile right...it should be a do-nothing bait, not an action bait.
I trawled for Shrimp through most of my life.  I've seen countless-thousands of Shrimp swimming.
Just trust me.  If You'd teach me how to design on Your software, I'd have You a Shrimp finished before lunch.

You will get your chance to test drive it.  We had to put it on the shelf for awhile, but it is time to get it finished off.

Thanks.  I'll try the shrimp flies out but I'm kinda concerned about durability. The jig heads I absolutely love and I think they'll be perfect for sight fishing.

Coastal- That fly is really cool- love that.  I keep going back and looking at it again.  How long does it take you to tie one?

As far as the shrimp mold (for plastisol) goes, if it looks authentic- like a real shrimp, that would be fantastic.  -I agree with BKJ there.  Every person who pours baits on the gulf coast will probably buy some.  As far as being able to pour the lure with the jig inserted, I agree with mrex there.  That would be ideal.

However, if the bait looks authentic......just as we do with color, depending on what plastisol and what additives we use, any one of us can make the bait buoyant, make it sink to the bottom, or make it neutrally buoyant.  Just like real shrimp, sometimes they pop up top, sometimes they down low, and many times they are "hovering" (looking neutrally buoyant)  THAT will be key, where the action itself is so key on so many other types of baits.

Jason, then Do-It have made some incredible baits over the years.  As so many are too, I look forward to seeing the shrimp.  I hope it isn;t going to be offered only in a single cavity.  Hint hint. :) :)

It only takes about 15 minutes to tie one.
I think a multi cavity would be awesome.
