Black gives the most dramatic effects when brushed on dry. I find that the same colors on a dead clear plastic to a slightly pearl plastic will yield some super natural looking baits. I pretty much stay with these two base colors. I'm not a fan of white so I don't fiddle with any pearls on that. The black base color gets you the eye poppers.
Pearl-ex has a couple shifting colors in their selection. They make some very nice baits and are easy to use too. A 12 color set will last years for the average guy brushing the pigments. I am using the 5 gram samplers from
www.didspadecom in the fine particle color shifting series. These cost like $5.80 for the sample package per color and I can't say that I can notice having used any yet. And I play a lot. Of course the site offers some color shifting stuff at $280.00 or more for 25 grams too but my meager eyesight can't tell much difference between the cheap and pricey. If you check this site out be sure to take a gander at the glitters. They are next on my list too....at least the colors I haven't gotten already.
