Nice looking rod my man. Good for you. Nothing like putting something together that is 100% you. I still have a dozen rods I built to my specific needs. I built a few different actions X2 so if I broke one I'd have an exact replacement. That one looks like a super piece of equipment. How does it fish?

Tom have you looked at components lately. I have made half a dozen rods for special uses. But any more a custom or St. Croix get the job done. Going to the river tomorrow in the boots and see if I can stick something.

I hung up the rod wrapping Mike. Too much eye strain anymore and I have enough rods in the closet I could have a sale and get rid of half of them and still have more than a sane person needs.

What's the action and length on that rod? I need a eight foot rod for jigging raps and not sure what to get.

Gary from the videos I’ve seen on jigging raps and shiver minnow they used shorter rods in 6’9” to 6’ 6” range they say it’s not as hard on your arm when fishing all day. 1 rod in the pic is 7’ ML FAST and the other 1 not in pic is 6’6” ML FAST. Like everything else it’s personal preferance.

I really like the Shimano Symetry reels. I have five in crappies reel sizes [750 and 1000 series] plus two 4000 series for casting on Lake Superior. Also like the Saharas and have a boat load of those in several sizes. As I replace the Saharas I buy Symetrys to fill the void.

Really looks like a fine rig Mike.
