Pouring with a ladle

I have been pouring with the bottom spout on my lead pot. Tried o pour with a ladle but having trouble with the lead harding in the ladle. Do you guys leave the ladle in the lead for a period so it gets to the same temp. as the lead?

Yes, I preheat my paddle in the lead. I also leave the ladle over the pot between fills to keep it hot.

Get a good ladle.  The Lee ladle isn't one of those.  Keep the ladle HOT.
