You should be fine with the fluorocarbon in that range with a MH rod. The issue with guys bending hooks are often using tackle that is heavier than the technique they are fishing. Football jigs were originally a deep clear water technique, they were made with thin weed guards and light wire hooks so you could get full penetration on a hook set when the jig was in 25' of water. What happened is braided line is so good that guys regularly use 30# to 50# for fishing jigs like the football head. As for the weedless ball jig, I think you mean the weedless round head which is the same as an Eakins jig, I say that because there is a weedless ball jig that uses light wire 90 degree hooks and that is the exact name of the mold, weedless ball jig. I use the 32798 in both of the molds you are looking at with 12# line regularly with a MH rod and I don't have any issues.
