Tail spins.

Watched a great video the other day about cold water Bass and tail spins.

Hadn't ever seen such a thing and though it might be a good one to buy and try.

But then I got to thinking I should be able to concoct something that would come close? Should have know someone came up with something, and right on Do-Its web site!

These are other tails spins but the mod you show is realistic as you can get.

  That's a great idea for a shad spawn bait. Maybe put a ballbearing swivel on the back to make that blade really flash.

Reminds me of  the Mann's Little George. We used to use them a long time ago. I think they are coming back into play again.

There are guys by me that use the bottom one I post to catch whitebass. They use double jigs when the fish come to the surface by the boat and when there out of jig casting range they use the tail spin.

I'm virtually positive this article was written by forum member "Partycrasher" (aka Marc) hailing from S.E. Wisconsin.  However, I think he prefers blade baits over tail-spinners (not that it should detract from his work) because he typically fishes deeper water where blade baits have a notable advantage over tail-spinners.  Conversely though, I actually prefer tail-spinners over blade baits because of their consistent action with smaller sizes and less rod movement (which is not to say they cannot be fished aggressively) in shallower water... the bottom line is that they are fish getters for sure.

Still trying to figure out how they had the attached the spinner blade too.

I'll assume a bead is behind the spinner blade then the wire bent and snipped. The blade would need a bead as a bearing to spin on.

He wrote for Midwest Outdoors... (which I think is no more).


As for attaching the blade, ctom is right on (because they all attach pretty much the same).

Yes... It's a modified shad bait lure mold with a through wire.

I like the mod, 21... not sure if your top pattern is supposed to be a walleye (or maybe smallmouth), but it looks outstanding!
