I was just peeking into the ebay area where I get my real small crankbait bodies and what should I find but two 15 bait offers so I snatched them right up. This is the first I have seen them now in three months. These are the ones I use for ear rings and my current in-house supply is getting thin. Too thin. What I have on hand now will go into some box fodder for this fall's fishing. The ears will have to stay un-adorned for a while. lol
Shelts has a small crank that I like for something a tad bit larger than 7/10's of an inch and I see they are now back in stock too but I have plenty of them right now. These baits too have been in the dark of late.
It seems that whenever I hit on a good thing everyone falls in like with the same thing at the same time. lol Those little suckers were off the grid for three months, then when they re-appear they're gone about as fast. I've made perhaps $500.00 this summer just doing ear rings for private parties and a few northern MN resorts. That eclipses the maybe $85.00 I've made off actual tackle. Can't hardly not justify doing the ear rings but I do get nervous when I can find replacement stock. I think after Christmas I'll need to make a major acquisition of these little guys so I don't have to worry about having enough to fill orders.
Are others here who paint the cranks finding supplies either real short or going thru periods of just not being available?
