Defect on Injector Cap?

Heyo- Appreciate the help in advance...

I was recently given a new, un-opened injector. Upon inspection, I noticed there is a blemish/indentation on the outside of the nipple. My questions are:

* Does this matter, as in, will it negatively affect my pour?

* If yes to the above, can I mitigate the issue by usuing a sprue extender?

If the ding hangs out over the outer perimeter of the short nozzle, just use a file and reduce until its the same. Otherwise it should not be a problem. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to inject the molds so the area around the end will likely not bother.

I submerge the nozzle in the cup of plastic to draw it up which leaves a thin layer of plastic on the nozzle that acts as a seal. If you pour plastic into the injector and have issues try dipping the end of the injector directly into the cup to pull plastic up to fill it and injecting to see if that eliminates the issue.

I can't tell for certain if this is a Do-it injector nozzle based on the picture, but if it the package you removed it from had a Do-it logo on it, send us an email at customerservice@do-itmolds.com for a replacement.

One of my injectors has a ding similar to the one pictured and I have had ZERO problems with it.

  I got on that has a bigger dent then that. I kind of like it when I go over to my buddies house to pour. I always know which on is mine.
