Here is a little trick I learned to keep my hooks eyes clean of any paint.
I use 3/32 heat shrink tubing (or 1/8) and using the length of tubing I put the end over the hook eye and then shrink it over the heat gun. You should leave the lead under the hook eye showing for full head coverage. The way the tubing shrinks normally pulls it up from the lead. After it is tight, cut above the eye leaving a little tab to grab a hold of to remove the tubing. I remove the tubing immediately after powder painting the jig while the tubing is still soft and pliable and removes easily, normally about 5 seconds after I take the jig off the heat.
I do all my jigs with the tubing first and then paint them. FAST and easy!
