Ambercracker

I/m a sucker for the firecracker lines of transparent plastics and had wanted to do something other than a clea plastic base so I ordered the Amber colorant from Jason when I ordered more plastic. The colorant arrived today and I went right to the shop with it.

This recipe is a snap:

4 oz plastic,
10 drops stabilizer,
30 drops Amber
equal parts of copper and green glitter - .015 along with an equal portion of red string glitter,
gold hi lites....maybe 1/8 tsp, but less I am sure



I am thinking I need to add just a touch more glitter, but then maybe not. At any rate, I call this Ambercracker. Its shown shot in the paddletail and small fry, both Caney creations. I liked the color so well I have done it in every mold I own. The paddletail was actually my target bait and was intended to go to the river with us on Friday in search of walleyes and maybe sauger.

I may play with some gold glitter in the next small batch I do and eliminate the copper. I may add some blue glitter too. The red and green are a must.

I pick up one of these paddletails and can almost feel a three pound walleye hanging on it. lol

I found a selection of string glitter at Hobby Lobby. Red, green, blue, purple, gold and silver for $5.99 and I cannot get the purple to bleed at all. Yet... so fingers are crossed.

I'm thinkin' that color would look good on some 3 1/2 inch carrots and maybe some gliders too. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! Amber with heavy green glitter is probably my all time favorite Bass color.

Great looking Smallmouth color. Is that a CCM Amber or someone else's Tom?

That would be  Caney color Dave.  I am super impressed with how little of it it takes to tone up this color and still stay as clear as it does.

I doctored this up today with just a tad bit more of each glitter and all I can say is wow. Just sitting on the curing board the bait looks too hot to handle. Pics maybe later.

I just finished shooting an order using this color. Another walleye guy wanting the ambercracker, sunfish, and purple w/chartreuse tail. Every one of the walleye guys ordering this paddletail bait is saying it is a sweet downsizing bait when the sauger get in a funk and short-hit the standard 2.5" paddletail popular up in this area. The need to bite off a half inch or more isn't an issue with this bait and its beginning to catch on with some of the better anglers now. They have been keeping me kind of busy. The Ambercracker is a very popular seller right now.
