I get my plastic in 5 gallon pails and then re-fill either one pint or one quart jugs from that. At re-fill time I have to pop the cover on the 5 and use a 1/2" drill with a paint mixer rod to stir the bucket. After mixing it up well I snap the cover back on the pail and pour plastic into a 5 quart ice-cream pail and use a funnel to fill the smaller jugs. Just finished with this task. Again. Second time in two months. Cripes this can be an oily proposition....just handling all the containers.
After getting all the big stuff put back in its place I use an acetone dampened towel to wipe down the small containers before bringing them in to stash near the boiler in the furnace room....stays around 80 degrees right there all year round so the plastic is always at a temperature perfect for working and its not cluttering up the injection station. I store the five gallon container under the work bench though.
How do you guys get your plastic and how do you handle it?
