Need a little help.
« on: 06/07/21 15:22 UTC »
I've been looking at the slick shiner mold......was wonder what head a guy should get to go with it.

Mainly looking at walleye. Which head/hook do u think would work the best on it?

Tear-drop head with the wire keeper would be my first choice.

I picked up the tear drop head after seeing Tom post about it before and I really like it for both the slick shiner and the ripper.
The other head I throw is just a round head with a wire keeper.

I don't have the freestyle mold but I think it would be good also.

I'd pick the Manic Mullet jig head.

Ended up going with the manic mullet.....I was also looking at the freestyle. I decided on the Manic mullet mainly because it's a put the hook in and pour. I've got the swimbait, herring head, and round head jig molds....wanted something a little different.

Anyone know when do it will get in the live bait jig mold?

Well got an email saying the slick shiner mold and some hooks I ordered were no avalible now…So I told them to cancel the entire order. Looks like E bay for used molds is the best bet.

ebay has not been very good for do it molds as of late... All retail and used molds have been scarce.

Some have. But I’m not going to pay a premium for the mold from do it if it is back ordered. Who knows when it would come. Could be months. Oh well saved me $190 I guess.

The slick shiner soft plastic mold was back ordered even though it was in stock when I ordered it. I was going to pair it with the manic mullet…..not needing to now since slick shiner isn’t coming.

Thanks though.

The company is still trying to catch up after the covid crisis and keeping the store's availability in sync with actually inventory has been a part of this. Even thought the mold may show as "in stock" when ordering, the mold may not actually be in stock. Call and check on availability to prevent issues like this.

I understand. That's why I ordered direct from Do-It before and was impressed with the speed.

Wife got me the free style jig mold for Father’s Day. It came today. Very nice with how it poured. Look forward to fishing it.
