The new crankbait blanks....
« on: 11/20/21 17:04 UTC »
....boy are they nice. I ordered the panfish square bill, the foiled deep jerk bait, the foiled lipless and the 2 3/4" popper baits and they all are just plain nice blanks to start with. The Panfish and the Foiled Jerk bait have pre-wrapped bills so none of the masking time is needed. And every single bait has the smoothest seams I've seen so far.

I have some grinding and stuffing of venison to wrap up as soon as the seasonings arrive, Monday hopefully, then a bit of smoking and finishing of the meat then the painting gets serious. I'll give all of these an alcohol bath, then settle in to some fun stuff. I have some new super shifts to play with and think those poppers will be a good place to begin experimenting with those.

Did I mention that these new bait blanks are nice?

The first blanks I ordered showed up today.  To start things off, I ordered some of the poppers.  They look like high quality baits that are sure to be fish catchers.  I looked at the panfish cranks but hadn't bought any yet.  I can't wait to see what you paint up Tom.
