Essential vs Crystal Clear

I am currently in the market to start making ice fishing plastics. What is the best plastisol to purchase? The essential or crystal clear and what are the main differences between the two?

I like the essential because it is a little more user friendly. Both are clear when they reach 350.

For the most part I use the Essential Series.   It is easy to use and reheats well.  I do add heat stabilizer when doing remelts.  Do It sells an essential series starter kit that provides much of what you would need (unless you already have color, glitter, injector, etc).

The quart size would get you a bunch of pan fish baits .  But I would get the gallon , it will save you money in the long run and it keeps well. The stuff does not spoil.

I'd say Essential plastic but it only comes in regular/medium so do ponder softener and/or hardener, and definitely stabilizer.

I wouldn't buy less than a gallon.  Observe the price per ounce.  Also, while you're perusing, observe the price per ounce on the "bulk" (5 gallon).

As always, never forget to save your scraps.

Keep in mind that softener and hardener do not have stabilizer in it so you will surely need to add stabilizer, whether you remelt scrap or add hardener/softener to any mix.

If I plan to re-melt a plastic, I add stabilizer and stir it in well while it's still fairly fluid after the last injection. The stabilizer is already in the plastic when it gets heated that way and adds to the heat resistance.
