red/yellow

This is one color combination that just flat out irks me.  Well, until now that is.

For years I have had friends lace up a plastic on a jig and whip the dickens out of the water with it not to catch a fish, let alone get a hit. Just about any other color combination one can imagine I have seen a fish hanging from, but not the yellow and red. I don't know if its due to the tannic acid that turns out water, even fairly clear water, a brownish tea color that these colors don't contrast well or what, but I have never seen a red/yellow that I thought would turn my attitude around.

Today I was cleaning things up in my storageage closet and ran into a wad of a transparent red that I thought got chucked in the puke color bucket along with a piece of a yellow that I figured for a flop and decided to see if there was such a thing as plastic resurection. I'm not sure but I think I may have found it.

I did up some small fry and a stinger bait in these colors after I did some color adjustment and figure that the colors being transparent as what got my attention in a positive light. Some eyes, a quick dip in clear and this is what I came up with.

I still don't see a fish hanging from it!   :P

They look good, they should work.
