High Price of Gasoline

With gas prices over $4.00, I wonder how high boat fuel will be this year? $6.00? I'm still going to fish! We'll eat more out of the garden to help cost. How will it effect your fishing this year?

I'll still fish at will.  Keep other driving to an absolute minimum, and shave unnecessary, parasitic spending as much as possible.

I fished the 2nd half of yesterday.
Only had one strike and I swung and missed, only to stand in awe at the size of the resulting boil the fish left, probably 4' diameter boil.

Likely a solid Striper those rivers are known for, which was the target.

A decent pile or fat old carp will leave a 4 foot boil on a swing and miss.

As for the cost of gas, we just returned from Duluth where we saw gas at a Quik Trip station at $4.14. Just down the street an independent station was at $3.84 and got our business. Quik Trip stations absolutely rape the public here at home and I’ll drive to our Fleet Farm 12 miles away to fill for usually 12 to 16 cents cheaper than the rip off station. If someone is gouging I will drive right past.

Honestly the price of gas won't have much impact on my fishing. I mostly fish in my kayak anyway.

I don't get out as often as I would like as it is.  I am not going to let high gas prices get in my way.

I will still fish as much as I can but with work I don't get to go much.

I think it's just about time fellas to go to a horse and buggy but fortunately for me I'm like 2.5 miles from the lake.  Going to avoid the gas station as much as possible tho

I usually only get to go on the weekend in summer because of being so busy at work. This eliminates the night fishing during the week anyway so i'll still be going on the weekend because i love night fishing.

  Three years ago I sold my big boat with the 225 engine and went with a 188 Ranger aluminum with a 115 four stroke. It's so quiet and cheap on fuel compared to that big engine. I just retired the first of the year and I plan on fishing more no matter what the price of fuel is. And trust me if I sit at home I'll be online shopping. It's cheaper for me to just go fishing.
