BUT, the OP is about my favorite Worm color...
If I had to choose one, it'll be a rich Green Pumpkin.
I have X2 Green Pumpkin Brown and would use that in a heavy dose.
I would not use any flake.  If I added anything other than colorant, I'd add a hit of Black Pearl powder.

With or without the pearl, this color will hit in all water clarities.

They #1 key to catching fish is finding them.
The 80/20 Rule:  80% of the fish are in 20% of the water.

Even fishing at night, standard natural colors apply because the colors of prey don't change when the sun goes down.

Favorite Worm Color:
Green Pumpkin Brown, or just Green Pumpkin.

I hadnt thought of worms as eels before, but it does make a lot of sense.  I find your first post very interesting.  I have recently started to add more colors to tails which are not natural colors (pink, chartreuse, green and blue).  A few of our local lakes do really well while other lakes really do better with only natural colors.  Could be the clear water and the eel connection.  Thanks for the ideas.

There are a few baits that are the fruits of embracing the fact, but they're few and far between.
Culprit has a "Baby Eel" color that's pretty bangin'.

Just one example of Juvenile Eels.
Of course their color varies.

Green Pumpkin Brown.
Do-it 6" Finesse Worm.

The adult eels are fairly common here in the Mississippi River. They'll run up to about 30-34" for a large one. They're about like catching a rattlesnake. The bst way to handle them is noit to handle them and just snip the line. Slimy suckers and if you use a net, you'll have to take the net off the handle and launder it. Fighters though.

Can't say I have ever caught an eel but I'll keep the info in mind.  I've caught bull frogs and turtles.  I'm always timid with the turtles.  Luckily haven't been bit.   I have that finesse worm it's a good one.

Do-it's CNC 6" Finesse Worm (not El Gusano) may be their most-powerful mold, IMO, and for this reason.

It even applies in inland saltwater, where there are also Eels.

I respectfully disagree. The 6 inch El Gusano is a fish catching machine. Tell me I could only have one worm mold and that would be it.

I also have the 6" ES Finesse Crawler which I really like too. Not sure if it is identical to the El Gusano, but it is a fish catcher on a shaky head jig (at least for me).  Havent tried the small versions of either of these baits.

I have this mold too & i agree it's a great mold. Works great on a shake head & also light weight texas rigging.
