6" Skinny Carrot
« on: 04/25/12 16:42 UTC »
I am looking for some ideas for the skinny carrot solid or laminate colors, I live in NW Arkansas and fish mostly Beaver Lake it has Spot (Kentucky) Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. It is very clear and Muddy at time depending on what end of the lake you fish. I am really interested in some killer smallmouth dropshot colors. I also fish a lot of whacky neko and shakey head. Any advice is welcomed and thanks in advance. Please leave pics and a recipe if that's cool.

I have been using the 6" Skinny Carrot quite a bit lately rigging wacky.  I don't have a pic at the moment but I hand pour a bright blue color juts until the sprue is full, then inject a solid black right behind it and hold for a few secs for a blended/coreshot kind of look.  The fish love it down here and the water is real muddy still.

I do a LOT of smallmouth fishing on the Mississippi with the 6" Skinny Carrot and my favorite smallmouth colors are:

1. Watermelon/red flake
2. Pearl Silver smoke (almost clear)/silver flake
3. Electric Snot: Chartreuse with green and chartreuse flake (sounds like a stupid match up...but they love that color wacky)
4. Black
5. I don't know why...but black over blue laminate (blue flake) is popular with largemouth on the river. Get some of the new X2 Blue....it's fantastic!
