The first round of snow was nice to us. I measured only 6" before I started blowing. The snow was very fine and dry. We were at 18 degrees yesterday when it started and was still at 18 when I went out to clear it at 5:10 this morning. I just got in now and the temp has dropped to 15.
They're predicting round two to start around mid-morning and last until noon tomorrow. With high winds. Rochester sits in a huge depression with high prairie all around the city. Wind won't be too big of a factor in town, but the outlying areas are all under blizzard warnings already. That blizzard warning runs right up to the city limits according to the map they show. Technically, the city is under a winter storm warning and the difference between the two warnings is basically how they are spelled.
All of the moisture associated with this big blow is in Iowa. The Do-It crew is likely seeing rain, slush, but they're dry down there rainfall-wise from last year.
Time to makle the coffee, grab a shower and relax while awaithing the second wave to get ramped up.
