That 3" og grub

Is that 3" OG grub about the same size as the Essential Series 3" grub? I like the Essential Series one but would like the gloss, but am looking for the same size. Thanks.

I think they are quite close in size. I don't have the Essential mold, but the OG is a really nice grub.

My guess is the tail is probably a bit longer and wider.  The body is probably about the same length.  I agree the ES grub is a nice bait.  I've caught a lot of fish with it.  I have the 3.8 OG (it's about 3.5 in the mold).  It's a nice bait too.  I think all around you can't go wrong either way you go.

I also have the 3.8 OG mold CNC version. Great bait. Shoots very well too. Also works very well using the E-Core method.

Heck I really like  the 3” essential series grub mold too.  I use it a lot for  smallmouth & they like it as much asi do. Especially in  chartreuse, red or sapphire blue.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have two of the Essential Series 3" grubs and like them a lot. Everyone complains about the dull finish, but it doesn't matter to the fish. I am also thinking about picking up the CNC 3" ripper but wish it weren't so pricey for a single cavity. I also have it in an Essential Series, but I would like a little gloss. Anyway, I have crappie fished and catfished most of my life and was wondering what these fish exactly are. I know one is either a saugeye or walleye, and one is a smallmouth or largemouth, but I'm seeing different things, so I'm not sure any ideas? Sorry for going off course a little bit here.

Top is likely a smallie. The other could be either based on the subtle barring on the sides. Both walleye and saugeye can have the white tail patch and of course it could simply be a walleye with a local coloration thing going. They all are fine dining.

Shaun on the essential series going lghter aka less on the colorant than what you'd use on the cnc mold makes a huge diffreence.

Thanks, Les. I will give that a try. Thanks for the tip. I am starting to take a liking to these rippers and curly grubs on the river. I figured they would stir something up, but I haven't ever used a bait over 2.5". I'm just looking for a little gloss; I know fish don't mind. Yesterday I got six on the 3" Essential Ripper.

Thursday i think it was i caught over 30 on the 3.5 essential series ripper in my brother in laws pond.
