We've added an additional stabilizer to our current blend of stabilizers to help with humidity over the Summer months. It's not a huge change, but it will help some in the more humid States.
There was also an unexpected benefit we gained in doing this. For those who use more powerful microwaves the heat stability was increased significantly, especially on larger batches. With the new stabilizer blend you should be able to put 16 oz (2 cups) in an 1100 watt microwave and heat it for aprox. 3 - 4 min (depends on your specific microwave), without stirring and it come out fine. I can't guarantee this, but on the microwave I was testing on we were able to do this at 100% power, no extra stabilizer, no problems at all. Since we can't test every microwave on the market I can't say this will hold true for everyone, but everyone should notice even greater stability.
For even larger batches you may have to experiment some, but overall I think you will see a fairly significant improvement.
On reheats of this size I would consider adding some stabilizer, you'll have to experiment a little with your microwave.
One last benefit was with white and other light colors. We found that the need to add additional stabilizer was no longer needed until we got to the 3rd reheat. This may vary depending on your setup, but it should hold true for most if not all.
This change applies to all plastic orders placed since May 1st, 2012.
Thanks,
Jason
