Looking to amp up my Junebug
« on: 05/21/12 14:36 UTC »
I currently use Bears Black Grape for my Junebug but I want to amp it up and use a brighter purple colorant. Has anyone used the new X2 purple colorant to make Junebug? I want the purple to stand out more.

I use the "regular" CCM purple and it looks good; also with just a drop or two of blue as well.  I would think the X2 would look at least as good; or better.

The X2 Purple and Florida Grape are really good rich and transparent colors.  We use a couple drops of both in a recipe and it really pops.

As Paul stated, try adding a couple drops of blue or even red into your recipe. Doesn't seem like that would change things but to me the blue makes the recipe pop.
