For bluegill I start with 6 ounces of plastic and add like 30 drops of stabilizer and mix well. Then I add equal parts of green, copper, and blue glitter plus double the single color amount of purple. Just a smidge of blue hi lite goes in and that's it.

I reheat a lot so that's the reason for the heat stabilizer. If you're doing a single cook and shoot it you could eliminate the stabilizer IF you heat slowly and keep the temps down to 330-340....all that glitter really changes the way the plastic heats in something this clear.

I'm using Caney's soft formula plastic and adding softener. I am also shooting crappie and sunfish sized plastics.

x3. That is pretty much the industry standard. Doesn look much like a blue gill to me but catches fish. I add a little orange glitter.

I also make what I call "Natural Sunfish".

1 cup
12 LC amber brown
1/4 035 brown
1/4 035 gold
1/4 035 orange
1/4 035 purple

might make a toad in blue gill and fish it weighted. When its pulled fast, it swims on its side. Should look like a beam.

Here are a couple examples of the bluegill color I do in the Thumper Fry.

The top color has a little bit of turqoise hi lites added while the lower two are shot in clear with ever so little violet hi lites added.

I slipped out to a local flood control reservoir last night for about a half hour...all I could stand for the skeeters.....and tossed this plastic. I had to work thru some colors but ended up with a bluegill/chartreuse tail on the plain leadhead jig and took crappies, sunfish and a nice lm bass. Man, I paid in blood for those fish. lol.
