I really don’t want to get my blood pressure up so I’m going to keep this short and sweet. Here is a local news article about what took place here on our local river. Before you read this article please keep a few things in mind. What the article doesn’t tell you is: 1) that the Georgia EPD was informed of the fish kill on Thursday May 19. 2) The EPD didn’t bother to start collecting water samples until Saturday May 21. 3) They also didn’t bother to inspect the plant in question until Monday May 23. 4) The fish kill started at their waste water pipe. I’ve also included a link to a local organization that has tried to keep our river clean and publicize what has been taking place.

Jason glad you split this thread. I was incorrect in saying Knifemaker3 was in favor of pollution. ??? He was not in favor of pollution and was concerned about generalization and blame.

As others have said there is lots of responsibility to go around. No matter who or what may be responsible for each individual act/s or incident, bottom line is damage/death to the waters, fish and aquatic life. Perhaps that will be the uniting or common factor that will bring us to act and be advocates for the survival of our rivers. It is in our common interest to do what we can to preserve our waters by our acts, our wallets, our votes and to be good private and cooperate citizens.

Sorry if it sounds like "why can't we all just get along?".
