Pearl Powder
« on: 08/06/12 10:02 UTC »
Does anyone have tips or tricks regarding the CCM pearl powder. I'm curious on amounts people use and how to add. I tried mixing it in prior to heating and it seemed to clump. I have yet to try once it was hot.

As always Thanks for the help.

Add when plastic is warm. Generally, a little goes a long way.

I would start out with a smidge and add more as needed. Pearls and hi-lites will also stiffen your baits up the more you add.

Jim has a nightly show on fishing cable...sponsored by CC, it's called "Pouring with my Peeps"  (formerly called "will these guys ever learn?")...consult local listings as to when show airs in your area.

and Jim, friend said Seminole fish (and surrounding areas) are still hitting watermelon w/black/gold flake//say, if you scald them on it, maybe...errr, u can give a shout out to the Grimp on your show!!!

I always start with a "smidge" per cup after the plastic is hot. I have a set of measuring spoons that measure as follows.

Tad — 1/4 teaspoon
Dash — 1/12 teaspoon
Pinch — 1/16 teaspoon
Smidgen, smidge — 1/32 teaspoon
Drop — 1/64 teaspoon or less

I need to get a set of small measuring spoons like that! Are they metal or plastic? I use a plastic one for gliter and it seems like a ton sticks to it.

They're metal, Lure Craft sells some in a set of 3. They come in handy, especially if you want McDonald's style consistency.

Awhile back I upgraded to the same set of 5 spoons.  Got mine from eBay for a few dollars.  Stainless Steel.  I'd give You a quart of Shad Oil before I gave You my little Spoons.
