Help with bait design..

hey guys, I need to tap into the vast reservior of wisdom on this forum.

 I am in the middle of developing a saltwater twin tail bait and am spending a lot of ca$h on this project (grub type tail) and the more I try and get it right, the more south it goes. 

Just received a prototype that totally discouraged me, bait swims ok (just ok) but ZERO, and i mean ZERO action on the fall and I want it to have great action, even if I am just bumping it on the bottom.  I am a man of faith (in Jesus) and Jesus anoints men with wisdom, so i ask you guys if u would, to give me your opinion of some great twin tails (with great action)you may know of....and plz., pics if you have them.  Again, the bait is great till u get to the tail...and the tail is real key to it's success....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what is going on with the design you have now?  The twin tail should have some action on the fall.  Maybe the thickness of the tail end needs to be adjusted to get the action you are looking for??  Just a thought

Hi Floridagrimp Is this a twin tail grub or a twin tail swim type bait .  If you look  at the master(Jason) at ccm . The size  of the tail in relation to the rest of the bait . What  size jig or hook will change the way a  bait will work. Just look at the 3.5 swim shad  it has a great side to side roll that brings the bait to life.I use 1/8 Alien Jig 1/4 kills a lot of the action. hope this help Walleye wacker

It is a shrimp type bait
Med plastic,  tail is .060 thick  1.75 in wide  about 3.75 in.

I want it to fall perfectly with a 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jig. w/great tail action...they even use 1/16 oz jigs w/1/0 and 2/0 hooks. lot of shallow water from above Tampa and down!!!

 floridagrimp  When I am looking too change something our fix  I use mend-it . You may want to segment you tail  to get more movement and help the fall. Mike

I am going 2 connect the best twintail can find..(outside of Strike King) and connect to the bait's body!!  BTW,  what is mend it??

Kind of hard to have a opinion or help without a picture. Not really sure what kind of tail you looking for with a shrimp? I have a couple of shrimp molds. One you have to insert a weight into the belly to make is sink correctly.
