Are x2 and regular colorants different colors?
« on: 08/15/12 01:58 UTC »
I have been looking again and again at the colors in regular and in X2 and I can't tell for certain. Purple in each look close but are they the same or is there an actual color difference? Same with F.l orange and Fl. pink? Any others that are actually different?

Is it just that the regular is photographed on white and the X2 is on a wood background?

And Jason, do you have an image of the bubblegum?

x2 takes less drops to make the color you want. It's a different company making the x2, so there's some variance.

They are different. X2 is made to our specs by a pigment company. It is stronger and is a richer deeper color. Most are transparent and all are non bleed except jelly apple red. They won't separate as bad as regular colors because they are thicker. If you read the X2 reviews there is some good feedback on them.

They are definitely a different color than the regular colors. In most cases we color matched them to our favorite color by a major mfg.

The bubble gum is exactly what you would expect it to be.  I will get a pic soon.

The x2 colorants make amazing brilliant colors with very little drops. Amazing product! The extra money is so worth it when you think of how much further a bottle goes. For example the regular purple take 30 drops at least to make what 5 or 6 of the x2 makes.

The issue is that color I want is not the color I see in the X2, specifically the fl. orange and purple. The X2 are brilliant but not what I want in those colors. If there is a way to make the same color you see in the regular by mixing X2 colorants then I would love to see a list before I order. Getting more for the money is always good but I want to get the color I want at the same time.

I may order both and see if I can make the X2 work out for the color I want and just in case my monitor colors are off.

Jason, do you send samples, even if I have to buy them of specific colors so I can tell which one is right for what I want?

Can someone send me side by side pictures of those two colors on the same background in the regular and X2 colorants?

The easiest way to get a color matched is to send us a sample of what you are looking for.  I turn it over to CCM JR and he can usually nail it pretty quick.

One other thing I'll add...  Colors on the computer can be pretty deceiving.  The other variable that I find extremely amazing is how glitter influences the color of a bait.
