Lookin for Houdini
« on: 08/30/12 06:35 UTC »
Anyone have a recipe for Zoom or RI Houdini color? I am not doing a laminate.

I see large black and gold medium flake and fine red.

Is the plastic a light green? Maybe a few drops of LC motor oil would work?

Thanks....Bill

According to their site it is Watermelon Red with the bottom half being Sand.

http://zoombait.com/2010/01/new_color_houdini/

My guess is the top is watermelon with black and red flake, and the bottom is "sand" with gold flake.

If you wanted to make it, but not make a laminate, I would just make the watermelon with black and red flake and add gold flake to the mix as well.

Jason is dead on. It is a laminate of Zoom's sand and watermelon red flake. Here is the sand recipe again. Maybe you can weave them together.

Sand
4 oz plastic     2 drops white, pinch white pearl, smidge medium gold glitter, smidge large black glitter, smidge medium copper flake

Thanks all.

In this pic from Zoom's site I clearly see gold flake in the watermelon. You can barely call that watermelon as it is so light.

Gold is coming from the bottom color Bill. Look at other baits in that color and you will not see any.

Agreed on the watermelon, go light.

Still doesn't do anything for me though!!  :D

10-4 on the gold. The watermelon is so transparent.

Here is the RI Houdini.

Yeah Bill, that is the one I matched from initially. I did my watermelon red flake recipe but 1/2 of normal drops. Did medium red flake also instead of all small red flake too.
