Another question about reheating...
« on: 03/03/11 19:37 UTC »
Some time ago I posted a question about reheating or melting down brand name plastic baits(ie. Zoom, berkley, etc.)

I then asked how can I get rid of the glitter that was previously put in these baits (if I could at all)...

My question now is, can I over heat the plastic, in turn basically burning the glitter away??

I understand it's not ideal but is this a feasible concept??

I think you would just burn your plastic and curl the glitter.  If I remember right someone had suggested to heat the plastic, and then just let it cool.  The glitter should settle to the bottom and then you can cut most of it out.

If possible, I would sell the baits and use the money to buy plastic.
