Down here in Venice, LA, the River is ok, and still fairly clean/green/clear.  Makes me want to get a non-Res license, bring my 8-footer to work, and work the 4" Skinnies 'til we have to make a run. Gorgeous down here in South Louisiana, the End-udee-End-udee-End of the road!

I just crossed it up by St Louis today and it looked okay too. Chilly up here though.

Our rivers are still high up here and moving fairly fast. The surface was surprisingly calm today though.

The Mississippi River up here in Minnesota is fine today. We hit it about 7 this morning for walleyes and sauger but the wind came up and blew us half to death. Instead of bookig for the homebounds we crept into an old crappie location and dropped a couple Thumper Swim Fries down in the wood and were instantly rewarded. We tied off so we could stay in one spot and commenced to hammer so real dandies. 14" was common, 12" seemed to be everywhere the bait went. We kept 15 to split between us and released a whole bunch more.

It was 50 degrees on the water today. Got a little pink in fact. Warmer tomorrow, but the deer stand is calling me back. I don't know why I bother with the deer since nothing wants to get any closer than 150 yards and with these temps fishing is just hard to beat.

We are supposed to hit almost 70 here in Pittsburgh this weekend so I might literally sneak away from the house remodeling and try to get a couple hours in.

I should have noted before that the big river up this way is low by a couple feet right now too. Today's wind blew us upstream easily when we weren't under power of some sort. We had lots of grass coming down today too. In some areas jigging for walleyes was impossible because the grass would foul your line in a second.

69 here in Rochester right now.  Clear, but breezy. Nice out in the garage shooting today.

Meet Trent. He's one of my fishing friends and I was with him on Thursday of this week when we hit the big river and got the crappies. I'll try to give this pic some perspective. Trent is about 6'2" and right in the neighborhood of 290.....Andrew sized. The crappie he is hold taped at a hair past 14 inches. This crappie sure did like the Thumper Swim Fry that fell right in front of its face. Purple, chartreuse tail....does it almost every time. Great bait Jason!
