What's on Deck for 2013?
« on: 12/14/12 12:45 UTC »
We have some really exciting news to share.  We wanted you to know about this before an official Press Release is made in the near future.

For the last couple months, there have been discussions between Do-It and Caney Creek about how we can provide the ultimate products to you.  The owners of Do-It, Jason Haefner and Ryan McBride, are both really passionate about the outdoors and fishing, just like we are.  We have gotten to know them and learn much about their mold business, other lines of business like CSI (Component Systems), and most importantly – the passion and pride the employees of Do-It have about what they do.  Overall I can say this, they are awesome, and are going to bring so much additional technology, innovation and manufacturing capabilities to what we are doing.

With that said, and with this common passion, Do-It Corporation is acquiring Caney Creek Molds.

What does this mean?  Initially - all sales, operations, manufacturing, etc. will be moving to Do-It.  Research, design and prototyping of soft plastics will continue as normal on Lake Fork.

The full integration of the two companies will take a little time, but until then, things will function as normal.  Looking into the future, the expectations are limitless.  Both companies have incredible manufacturing capabilities and processes.  Once the best of both are combined it will be something to behold.  There are obvious synergies like jigs and plastic made for each other, but there are many new products we are already discussing that will become feasible in the future that frankly, Caney Creek would have had trouble delivering without the help of a 50 year industry leader like Do-It.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support over the last 3 years.  We couldn’t have gotten here without you, and won’t be able to get where we’re going without you.  We couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for all of us.  We hope you have a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and are looking forward to taking the next step in 2013.

God Bless!
Jason, Diane, Andrew and Alex (CCM_JR)

Obviously there is a lot to work through, but there isn't any change planned from a subtraction perspective.  The change I would expect would be additional options in molds, colorant, plastic, accessories, etc.  This change is about improving and offering more, not taking anything away.

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Matt,

All the current designs will continue as is.  The main goal in all this from my perspective is about new - new designs and new complimentary  products.  This is going to free me up from worrying if we have enough bottles, boxes, etc. and allow more focus on designing and testing new baits (like the one you've been asking for  ;D).

Yes.  Matt just asked a similar question, this not about taking away, it's about adding.  It will be a huge positive and provide you with even more choices and new designs faster.

Thanks for clearing it up for me jason you had me nervous lol it sounds like we can expect some great new additions. Maybe you can convince them to make a concave bottom bullit weight mold lol. I just put an order in for one of your bigfoot frogs can't wait to try it out. Happy holidays to you and your family jason and congrats

I think you will be happily surprised by the outcome on both sides.  They are top notch and want feedback just like CCM does.

Awesome, Jason Sir...Praise God.

However...:D...I have to echo BassHunter5...my jaw dropped when I read the Original Post.  I'm a fan of Do-It, all my lead molds are Do-It.  As for the future, I'm lookin' forward To-It...!

This is like when a young man comes to take your daughter out on her first date. Your angry, nervous and unbelievably scared of what is going to happen.
