This is a Spin on an Old Favorite, Smoke/Red. This is also a Revision from the "Hot Pistol" recipe I posted in the "Recipe Ideas" Thread.
Out of all the Smoke/Flake variations out there, I used Smoke/Red more than any other Smoke-colored bait in the Salt, and usually Smoke was a Winter color...so I chose Smoke/Red for this batch. I only shot the 4" Skinny and the Glider, as these two Baits will cover most of my "go-to" applications/presentations, for the time being.
The Jighead in the pics is the modified Do-It Erie Head 1/8 oz. (570/575) with a 4/0 Mustad 32831BLN hook...6mm Flat Red Eyes and a heavy coat of Clear Engine Spray Paint. I haven't made any 1/8 oz. Erie's with 3/0's with Eyes, yet...the 4/0 hooks fit the 4" baits but the 3/0 hooks fit the 3" baits...I've used the 3/0's with 4" baits, but the 4/0's seem to be a better fit on a 4". That straight-lead "color" with the Red Eye sure does look good totin' a Hot Pistol...
...Hot Pistol...
12 oz.s CCM Plastic "Hard"
12 Drops CCM Black NB (non-X2)
1 Dash LC Ultra Lumina Black Pearl Powder
1 Pinch CCM .040" Fire Red Flake
1 Smidgen CCM .015" Fire Red Flake
I only included this first pic to show the level and intensity of the amount of the Lumina Black Powder...

These 2 pics were taken outside a short while ago...overcast right now...
