Swimbait insert mold
« on: 12/18/12 22:57 UTC »
I pour a lot of swimbaits.  My specialty are all line-throughs.  I am on the West Coast so some of you know the swims I am talking about are larger (6-10 inch) than some peeps in other areas would throw...anyway-  I would LOVE to see a mold for the inserts.  I am thinking somewhere between 1/2oz and 2oz.  ...modifying existing molds is not nearly as much fun(for production purposes) as pouring lead straight into a mold would be.  :D :D :D :D

My thoughts on this would be a "mojo" (kind of) shaped weight (inline spinnerbait type) but with "rings" around it every 1/8th inch in order to give it "teeth" in the swim bait to aid in staying put and not sliding out of the bait as easy as some other brand X swim baits.

I don't know how much of a demand this would garner- but I thought I would throw it out there anyway..

To kick it up a notch, I would like it if the insert could do both a line-thru and also a top hook.  This way I would have one insert and I could pour two different types of swimbaits.

Or I could pour with a top hook and if the fish are biting short, I can instantly change to a line-thru with the same swimbait.

Agreed also on the top hook or line through option.

I would be in for at least a 5 cavity mold for myself as well, if it's around the 100 dollar range.
