motor oil maybe?
« on: 02/08/13 13:38 UTC »
I'm not sure if the X2 motor oil color is the changable color....you know from the amber color to greeninsh. I've had a request for it if I can come up with that color. Does anyone know if the X2 motor oil is changable? I might whip up some amber just a touch stringer then add some green hi lites to it to see what I come up with. Now off to the creation station....pics later.

Forgot....is it colorfast too? Can't have a bleeder.

I think Tom wants to know if it flops from one color to another.

Tom, I've got a bunch of the changeable and wouldn't mind sending some to you but it does bleed.  (BB colorant)

I was told the CCM X2 Motor Oil is NOT the changeable motor oil color.  I believe Dobyn's possiblly is one who has some and posted pics a while back.  Dob?

Ya, I was hoping it was a color to color color. I can't use the bleeding formular because tail colors will be different.

I mixed up some amber and added green hi lites and green glitter and came up with something that I think will work. When I loaded the picture in my photobucket account and went to edit the size I got informed that the edit function is now tied up in a new format they are forcing people to use so basically I can't show what I came up with. Man, this photobucket stuff sucks.

Does anyone halve a free photo hosting site that's better than photo bucket?

I have LC Motor oil. It does not appear to change either.

Tom, try using www.tinypic.com

You don't even have to sign up for an account.  Just upload your photo to it, copy the link it gives for "forums" and paste between the mona lisas here....works great.

I just got a bunch of MF changeable colors and so far I'm really liking them.  I've only used the blue craw so far (which I really like), and I'll be using the motoroil next.

Thanks for that link Shawn. I tried it and have the pic here.

I sat and studied the plastic color last night and have decided to past on it. Its too thin I'm sure for what the request wants. I may need to just order some of the bleeding colorant and let people know that what they see is what they'll get with no chance of a split color happening.

I've got BB changeable Motor oil and mixed it with CCM Amber to get a motor oil colour that a customer wanted. Both pics are the same baits but the colour changes with the light and when in water.

I should have also said that it doesnt bleed, not sure if its because of the CCM amber in it but I've had it in bags with other baits and no bleeding

Just checked my cookbook and forgot to say its also got CCM Fluro orange in it

Very interesting idea here.  That BB Motor Oil bleeds more than any other color I have other than BB Chartreuse.  BUT- I have only ever poured it alone, with hi lite, and with glitter....I never tried mixing in CCM colorant....Hmmmmmmmmmm.

That is a good color there Ctom.  Sort of a lemon gold.
Color changing motor oil has been a good color for me for a Long Time.  Esp. with gold glitter in the sun and light black when it's cloudy.
