Bass Tackle Blending Block
« on: 03/05/13 11:31 UTC »
Has anyone on this site bought the blending block that they offer?
http://www.basstackle.com/Blending_Block_p/blendingblock1.5.htm

If so, they state that you can only use their injectors...Is it possible to use CCM injectors with this model?  I really like CCM and their rewards program so I want to support CCM.  Thanks

BT had/has two different blending blocks.. a small one and a larger on that comes with their whole twin injector system.. when I first started i had the small block and i used one CCM injector and one bears injectors.. it takes a little practice to do it but you can use the ccm injectors no problem.  the BT twin inject has a brace that holds it all together..  if you use CCM you will need to figure out how to hold them together or make your own bracket.

Hope some of this makes sense and helps.

Yeah, I saw that they have their own kit, but I already have injectors from CCM and don't want to pay almost $200 for theirs with the brace.  Thanks...just wanted to be sure I could use the block with CCM injectors before purchasing.

I'd imagine you could rig up a brace using those little clips on work lights. The little ones with the lamp holder and reflector.

Sbuck you won't be disapointed in that system I got mine a couple weeks ago and figured it would take some getting use to and I planed on wasting some plastic to figure out the learning curve but I have gotten perfect laminates everytime. Real easy system to learn. My only advice would be if your shooting multiple molds I would heat the blending block up prior to shooting it just makes it easier to switch molds without the holes clogging up.

You did the right thing. It is a little pricey but works very well.

I love mine. It works great. The only thing I had to do was mark a couple of my molds to show the top of the bait. I did mess up a few where I got the bottom of the bait with the dark color.

I've done that too.  Also the first time I tried a laminate with the gill mold, I did a side by side laminate.

Besides heating the mold up...is there any other advise anyone can offer about using the twin injector?

Just hold it real steady and push slow. Like said before just make sure of your top and bottoms. It really is that easy.

also make sure your plastics are the pretty close to the same temp.. and not to hot or they will just blend together and not give you a laminate bait.

Don't tighten the brackets that hold the two injectors together too tightly, some what loose helps the smoothness of the plungers.
