logo design

I figured I'll probe the great minds of ccm  forums. I'm looking for someone to make my logo. I need to design it first, I have a general idea of what I want, were would I even start this process? I thought of going to our local sign place and seeing if they could help but figured I'll ask y'all first.

I went the cheap route and had my buddy draw it with pen and paper.  Even though, I really like the logo, we are limited with what we can do with it because it is not a vector image. I tried having it converted to a vector image, but he drew it using pointillism so we are kind of stuck.  I have a buddy that does graphics design, but he said it would take him quite a few hours to make us a logo.  He said he would charge us $300-$500 depending on what we wanted.  You can always browse websites like istockphoto.com or any site like it. You can buy the images off the site if you find one you like. Doesn't hurt to check it out. Hope this helps!

There's a powerful free vector editing tool called Inkscape and there's TONS of free vector graphics and fonts available online. Any computer savvy person can figure it out pretty quick. Although my photoshop experience helped.

I have asked around and got information of college kids that are taking class for graphic design. I found someone to do mine it gives them a project and wont hurt your pocket book. So ask friends family and co-workers if they know anyone that is taking a graphic course and talk to them.

iguanagrafix.com would be a good place to build on your logo design, If you already have it drawn up you can take it to your local Fast Signs and they will print your logo on vinyl stickers in any color or size, to me they look as good as printed bags...But looks to me like you have a very good logo design builder right here on the fourm with jl3140.........

When we were thinking about our logo I started to look around the net. We found a web site www.Hatchwise.com you submit your ideas and many designers will work on it. If I remember you can get it do for as little as 130. You decide how much you want to pay, the more you give the more designers you will have working on it. We got ours done for $175. It worked out great for us and you don't have to only see one vision from one designer you have a lot of ideas. There is fee the site takes around $30. Well worth it.
