Hi lite example....

Here's a prime example of how hi lites work for you.



These are identical baits. The top and bottom baits show the slightly pinkish belly color that has a touch of red glitter in it along with some blue hi lite. The bait in the center is the same as the others, but a slight change in the direction you see it changes everything.

What the pic does not show is the violet hi lite in the smoke color used for the backs. Too bad the camera didn't grab the color because it is intriguing as heck. The back color also has blue, red, and purple fine glitter.

The top and back colors are seperated with a line of black. In the hand the black does a good job of seperating each color and allows each to light up with the respective hi lites. I'll do another pic in the morning to see if I can get better color responses. Cool color combo though.

Good looking baits, I have been playing around with pearls and hi-lites.  This is a good example!

Try the photo under different types of light. You would be shocked over the difference between an incandescent bulb and daylight or even fluorescent light.

Oh yes, I'm well aware of the differences in lighting. I was leaning towards not being able to see the true color of the back in this pic. The bottom bait moved and I wasn't aware of it until I got the picture loaded. When I was formating the picture I had that bottom bait set so that the smokey purple jumped right out, but of course when I snapped it I hadn't noticed that the bait turned about 45 degrees. I had it up on its side where the back color. black seperation line and belly all were very cleary visible. The tails make having this bait half cocked for a pic real tough.

They are really awesome. I just like to go into tirades about lighting because I worked in the lighting department on films for 5 years.
