No, not goofy anglers, but those who fish bass wacky style.

How many of you use those tube creations with the rubbers slipped up on the barrel of the tool to roll off onto a plastic inserted in the open end. You can make these using an old knitting needle of appropriate diameter. The needles are easy to find at garage sales. The rubberbands used to tension braces on teeth can be gotten cheap at drug stores.

As probably no surprise to anyone...I fish wacky ....a lot! :o

With the High Density Additive you really don't need the rings anymore. The baits are tough enough just to run the hook through and get 12+ fish per bait. (there is a thread on this last fall where a number of people chimed in that they are getting big numbers of fish/bait with HD.)

Actually, one of the reasons I got serious about soft plastic baits is I wanted my wacky worms to float so I can go retrieve them when they are thrown by the bass.

I fish wacky a lot as well.  I'd buy O-rings by the hundred pack and use the tool Tom's referring to.  They didn't work on 6 or 7 inch senkos so I bought shrink wrap tubing and made my own.  All that changed with HD Additive.  Stick the hook in where you want and go fishing.  You can also forget about the lead nails.
Until next time.

Ya see....this is why I don't fish bass. By the time I come up with something good to mention Denny, Andy and a host of others are well past the level I'm thinking at. lol

I fish wacky all the time. The O ring is a must. With it you can fish the same sinko all day long.

I usually fish the  Owner Mosquito hook.  I was watching a KVD DVD on worm fishing and he was using a big ole' shiny Mustad Croaker hook for wacky fishing.  I bought a few packs and guess what?  They caught fish too.
Until next time.

I use weedless hooks. I throw where everyone else wont and skip alot of docks. An open hook would never work.

I almost always have a wacky rig tied on. HD additive is definitely the way to go. The baits are waayyy more durable than salted baits. I prefer Matzuo 2/0 octopus sickle hooks for my wacky rigging. I tie weedguards on them using .013 Malin leader wire. I can fish them through really gnarly cover without hanging up very often. ---Tim.

I fish wacky a lot as well.  Damiki Viper wacky hooks are a favorite hook for me as are Owner Wacky hooks.  Actually, I bought a pack of the ones from right here in the Caney Creek store, and they seem like they're going to work really well, and they're cheap.
