Durability of CCM soft
« on: 05/01/13 08:30 UTC »
I didn't want to take away from the other thread about durable plastic but did want to mention a couple thing regarding the CCM soft formula.

Yesterday's fishing was one of those days that could easily serve as a field trial for durability of a product. While numbers of fish we fair it is the way the hits came that makes this statement. The hits were unreal. Quite often water would fly around the small floats when the hit came. Given the hits, I just want to say that the CCM soft plastic [softener added at a rate of 30 drops per 4 ounces] held up super well. I had on a total of three different bait colors, all on a different rod, and did not have to replace a one.

I am a fanatic when it comes to my panfish and crappie plastics and most of my favorite colors have seperate tail colors. I consider any bait with a split tail color that is intact after a day of hard catching a good bait. The bait used yesterday was a 1.75" minnow imitation and has a real thin tail membrane. I add softener as mentioned to the body color but the tail color gets about twice as much softener so that the tail and membranes feel super soft like a real minnow. I had one very productive color yesterday that got maybe 18 or 19 large crappies and a couple dink largemouths with aboslutely no issues with the tail plastic or the weld between the colors. I couldn't be happier with the soft formula product.
