Motor oil
« on: 05/04/13 15:50 UTC »
Does anyone know of; or have a formula for a non-bleed, color changing, green to brown motor oil.  Before I start wasting colors and plastic trying to "concoct" one, I thought I would ask.   I know CCM has a motor oil, but I don't think it is a color changing variety.   Thanks.

MF has a color changing motoroil, but its not colorfast and will bleed. I was just at the site looking at the blue-crawfish MicroSpoons suggested in the other thread for chocolate mint. The CM can be gotten as a colorfast color, not the motoroil. I have the motoroil from MF and its super strong for mixing....a little goes a long ways.

Thanks Ctom.  The M-F motor oil is a good color; but it is a bleeding color; as you said.  It would be fine if it didn't bleed.  The bleeding characteristic rules out any two color bait potential and cross bait discoloration if put in the wrong compartment.  I may have to use it if I can't find / create one as it is the closest to what I am after.

Not yet.  That is next on my list.  I have been working on getting my bait swap baits.  I have some ideas about where to start; but we will see.  If the big makers don't have a non bleed motor oil I am not overly confident I will get there.

I use bears motor oil.  I havent had any bleeding problems.  I use it on craw laminates all the time. I dont know where bears gets his.  I think it may be MF not sure.  Check spike it.  If you dont see it. call and ask h  90% of all big manufactures use there colors. they own color Tech.

Thanks biglewers.  MF has a good motor oil; but it is listed in their bleeding colors section.  I will chase it though.  I have always been very fond of motor oil as it has been a fish catching color for me.
