Couldn't agree more! This has been one of the most versitile heads I have ever used, with or without the weedguard. It comes through all types of cover. I did an article for the Do-It website about the Brush Jig and how it's the all-terrain vehicle of jigs. Beyond the typical bass jig, they are great tipped with a fluke bait like a 4" whatz-it or any type of plastic. The last couple times I went to FL I took a bunch and worked them with GULP shrimp and they were outstanding.
You can pour them and just leave the hole in the head and not add a fiber weedguard. Or if you want it to look clean, trim down a hole pin right to the face of the head. Then you can pour it without the hole. The empty hole is a great place to squeeze some Pro-Cure Sticky Gel if you use scents.
Its a great head design!
