One More Big 'um
« on: 05/16/11 22:34 UTC »
Was fishing the 7" Wutz-It this weekend.  This one just barely missed 7 lbs.  I caught another one about the same size on it also.  I just didn't have enough time to take pictures, I was too busy catching fish!

Nice catch!!!  How did you rig the Wutz-It?  And, how were you fishing it?

Hey Soonyee, I caught that one in 20 feet.  I had the Wutz-It on a TX rig with a 7/0 Owner hook and a 3/8 oz weight.  The other big fish I caught was on the same rig but in 8 feet of water flipping trees.

It's a cool bait to fish weightless in the shallows or around grass.  I also put it on a crig when I want to drag a big area.

Hey Jason, I'll try to get that picture in the gallery later tonight.

Nice. The Texas rig imparts awesome action.

Have you tried wacky rigging it with a weedless wacky rig hook? Just gut hooking it on one side of the belly?

I haven't tried the wacky rig on the 7".  There's a lot of plastic there and a small wacky hook might get covered up.

I do use the wacky on the smaller size flukes.  It has an awesome action whether you just let if fall or when you twitch it.
