Fall colors are beginning

Here's a part of this fall's color line-up. These are from  Jacob's mold and are about 1-3/8" in length, maybe 1-1/2". The segmented body makes shortening the baits easy when needed.



and this is what the same looks like when the lights go down....or the bait goes down deep.



The body color is a simple bluegill stained a bit with a darker purple and just a touch of pearl added. There is a wee bit of blue hi lite floating around in it too.

These will see some Mississippi River time as well as some dock fishing time when we enter the fall period up here. Glow baits or partial glow baits really begin to take off as the water begins its annual downhill journey in temperature. Right about 45 degrees and these will pop some darned nice crappies. I use the glow during the lower light periods and will switch up to a bait with a chartreuse tail when the lights are on.

These will work under ice too and generally will work in all light conditions.

Using the same body color, I have got baits with a red glow tail and a green glow tail as well. I love the purple glow and have used it for years, but that aqua glow just trips my trigger.

how do you get the different glow tails?

I use pigments that glow-in-color....purple glow glows purple, red glow glows red, blue glow glows blue....there are several different pigments. Do-It has a nice line-up that will be available in the future.

ctom, where do you get the purple glow from?

I used some pigments from right here at Do-It that I got early this year as a test package. I was asked to do some field work using a couple of their soon to be available glow colors. I have another source that has been good to me in the past but I will say flat out to wait until Do-It gets their color line-up on the site. Cost-wise I know Do-It will be less expensive and the other product doesn't mix into colored plastic well and still give a good glow. Do-It's glow pigments are impressive and will be worth the wait.
