I made some shad blades with one hook and some with two. I can tell you the one hook one don't get  snagged near as much as two. I cut the hook holder off with dremel and it didn't  change any thing in the action of the bait. I put a long shank #4 triple grip on test bait have not got a fish on it yet. And I may go to a #2. mike 8)

Its hard to tell in the pic Mike, but are you walking on water or in a boat? I love the bite along about mid December in the boat if the landing stays open. I've been known to shove the boat across ice too. Bpttom line though, nothing on this earth can beat a cold weather, open water bite and vertically jigging the waldos.

ctom That was 11 2007 in open water. we got 47 white bass 6 slot fish and a limit each biggest was 28"11lbs.4oz. The depth finder was solid bait fish from top to bottom and when it started too look like alpine lace cheese is when we caught the most. mike

RLarson Used the dremel on DO-It tube mold for the 3/8 and swim bait hook mold for the 1/4. mike 8)

I've got the old ZR (Silver Buddy) style blade bait and love it.  got a buddy on Tackle Underground that is looking at getting custom cut blade blanks but doesn't have it all set yet.  The smallies love to hammer blade baits!!!!!

Blade baits are awesome... I lift them up off the bottom just enough to feel 4-5 vibes and set them back down... I don't stroke them up hard like some do.
