I got this mold from Bass Tackle cause I like the swim bait style with a paddle tail. Still working on a color scheme but this is my first try. I tried a few more different colors, but still not the color scheme Im looking for.
Here is another try

Shane, Does that tail have much wiggle on the retreive? That first color looks great. Looks like a good mold to cut the plastic head off and attach to a minniw head jig.

This is the 674 Swimbait
https://www.basstackle.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=674-KJ-1
the tail action is pretty good with the regular Do-It plastic.
I agree with Muskygary, I plan on getting a Do-it mold to replace the head on the swimbait
The downfall to this, is that I planned to use the twinjector on this, but it has yet to work out right Not sure why but one color tends to overpower the other.

Shane..Is that a twin inject on the top? Also those side ports are hard to twin inject because of the way the bait site in the mold.. you will almost always have alot of one color, or blending instead of a laminate.. If you look at the 668 swimbait mold that one is ported on the top and would make a good laminate.

no, the top one I first shot it with a light motor oil color with glitter, cut the top off and placed it back in, then shot a light white color
yeah, I should have gotten that one instead

I see chopping the top half off is your only option here for a good two color split in the body. While the cop job is never going to be seriously consistent because that plastic likes to roll around, the "natural" look will leak out of these all over the place. Nothing in nature is perfect and the feathered edges of your cut create a nice area of color blending. This is hard to get using a plate, but the twin injector would do the same thing if the mold was formatted to split the top and bottom of the bait instead of the sides. Nice job of Improvisation.
