Mike shared an idea of his with me by sending a couple baits to use in the field. Its a pretty neat idea...or two.

First, he's added some feathers to the rear treble on both of these lures, something I never really thought about or considered. It really dresses the bait up and adds a whole new dimension to them. The hot pink wrap adds as well.
The top bait is a 1/2 ouncer and the chartreuse head is a winning color when these baits are homing in on cold water walleyes. Now coupled with the white feather, well......the fish will finish this thought. The 3/4 ounce model is missing the front treble and an over-sized #2 treble sits where a #4 should be. I know that 90% of the walleye/sauger I catch are hooked in the mouth on the rear hook when I am using this style of lure. I haven't had this single hook version in water yet but this fall will see it in action and I am antsy to try it. You'll note that the insert has undergone some "adaptation ala Mike" and with this weight loss and that of the missing treble I think that this one will ride significantly different when compared with the lighter one with both hooks.
The feathers and insert modification are both neat ideas. Both show how some thought can change things a bunch even outside of the plastics realm.
