Maribou jigs also pork frogs

Since we've been talking about hair jigs and bucktail jigs; does anyone use marabou? I use to tie a doll fly of black marabou and put a black twin tail on the backend. I would use a simple slow reel keeping the jig on the bottom. This was a spring and late fall tatic that placed me high in many tournments. Also, how many of you still use some Uncle Josh pork frogs? I must have about twenty jars of that stuff from the early 80's!

I use marabou and I use it a couple different ways, but one way it really works well is to palmer it instead of just tying the plumes in. I like doing it for trout jigs as it doesn't have a large profile but still has plenty of movement to attract a strike. I also make a wooly bugger jig and I use marabou for those also and if the plumes are big enough you can twist the ends together and then wrap it around the hook shank to use as a body.

I use a lot of maribou jigs for walleye with out plastic and with. And caught more fish the people using live bait. Never been a pork frog user. mike
