custom baits
« on: 10/10/13 13:01 UTC »
Well, the ol' lady has put her foot down again. I'm on restriction from buying stuff to make baits. So in a few weeks I want to buy some custom spinner baits. I always find a loop hole. Anyone selling?

Sometimes it's not what you know, but who you know.  Those are really good looking spinnerbaits.
Until next time.

Those are very nice!!!! You want to make sure the custom baits you buy have good components, like nickel, gold, silver, or copper plated over brass, not steel. You also want to make sure you get a good swivel, Sampo or Worth, I've used just about every imported swivel that is made and not a single one lasted, I'm just glad I never sold any baits with the imported swivels, so for me it is Worth, I consider them to have the best ball bearing swivel on the market but Sampo is right there, a little more costly but the same quality.

I agree....and don't be afraid to charge for it. There are customers that want cheap...and there are customers that want the best....

The logo I use on my website is pretty much in line with what Andrew has stated. It reads: Quality Tackle for Quality Anglers. I let the customer decide where he fits in, but do not short-change yourself on what you make and what you charge for it. The element of having tackle made on a custom basis is a strong selling point and those who are buying are not afraid to pay well to have baits that were made specifically for them or in colors that nobody has in packages on the hooks found in tackle shops, Cabelas, BassPro, or Gander Mountains.

Damn, and I just sold my remaining 1/2 oz for $3.50 each. Gave the customer a choice of blades he wanted.
